This initiative aims to alleviate congestion at the Ikoyi Passport Office and reduce the processing and waiting times for passport applications.<\/p>\n<p>Deputy Comptroller Muyiwa Odunubi, the Passport Control Officer for the Nigerian Immigration Service in Ikorodu, shared in a telephone interview with The PUNCH on Thursday that the Igbogbo Passport Office, located on Owolabi Sodara Street, Bola Ahmed Tinubu Way, Igbogbo, would be unveiled around 12:30 pm.<\/p>\n<p>The facility, with a capacity for 200 applicants, will initially serve as a front office, and the actual production of passports will continue to take place at the Ikoyi Passport Office until full operations begin at the Igbogbo facility. Full operations are scheduled to commence on Monday, December 4, 2023, with a current staff strength of over 30 personnel at the new passport office.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>Deputy Comptroller Muyiwa Odunubi noted, &#8220;We have more than 30 staff for now. We will bring more as time goes on, depending on where we may have lapses.&#8221; He expressed appreciation for the support received from the monarch of Igbogbo, Oba Semiudeen Kasali, the chiefs, and members of the Igbogbo Development Association in realizing the establishment of a passport office in the area.<\/p>\n<p>Odunubi acknowledged the community&#8217;s efforts in embracing and assisting the government in establishing the passport office. He commended the Adeboruwa of Igbogbo Kingdom and the chiefs for their wonderful support, along with the leadership of IDEA.
