The Benue State Government has dismissed allegations that Governor Hyacinth Iormem Alia is sidelining former political opponents and key stakeholders, describing the claims as baseless and misleading.<\/p>\n
In a statement issued Wednesday by the Governor\u2019s Technical Adviser on Media, Publicity and Strategic Communication, Chief Solomon Iorpev, the government said Alia has remained committed to inclusive governance since assuming office.<\/p>\n
According to the statement, the governor made it clear at inauguration that elections were over and governance had begun, stressing unity and collective responsibility in delivering democratic dividends.<\/p>\n
It noted that several former contestants, including Barnabas Gemade, Chief Steven Lawani and Hon. Terlumun Ikya, are working with the administration. Ikya was also appointed Chairman of the Interim Management Team of Lobi Stars Football Club.<\/p>\n
The government also refuted claims that the recent congresses of the All Progressives Congress in the state were mere affirmations, stating that elections were conducted across the 23 local government areas in line with directives of the party\u2019s National Working Committee and monitored by INEC.<\/p>\n
Alia, the statement added, remains focused on fulfilling his campaign promises and urged citizens to support efforts to build a peaceful, united and prosperous Benue.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
