{"id":82727,"date":"2026-02-13T14:35:16","date_gmt":"2026-02-13T14:35:16","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/abujacityjournal.com\/livenews\/?p=82727"},"modified":"2026-02-13T14:35:16","modified_gmt":"2026-02-13T14:35:16","slug":"fct-bus-terminals-await-fec-approval-to-begin-operations-wike","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/abujacityjournal.com\/livenews\/2026\/02\/13\/fct-bus-terminals-await-fec-approval-to-begin-operations-wike\/","title":{"rendered":"FCT Bus Terminals Await FEC Approval to Begin Operations -Wike"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>By Patrick Idowu<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>FCT Minister Nyesom Wike has said the three bus and taxi terminals built by the FCT Administration will commence operations once the Federal Executive Council (FEC), approves the Public Private Partnership (PPP), arrangement for their management.<\/p>\n<p>Wike spoke on Thursday after inspecting ongoing road projects in Abuja.<\/p>\n<p>The FCTA began construction of the terminals in 2024 at Kugbo, Mabushi and the Central Business District, at a cost of N51 billion. While the Kugbo and Mabushi terminals were completed and inaugurated in June 2025, they have remained unused since then. The CBD terminal is nearing completion.<\/p>\n<p>Wike explained that the terminals were designed to be operated by private firms with the required competence, but said the contracts must be approved by FEC.<\/p>\n<p>He added that the procurement process had already passed through the Bureau of Public Procurement.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI am confident that in the next FEC meeting, the contracts will be presented for approval.
