{"id":82575,"date":"2026-02-09T06:58:55","date_gmt":"2026-02-09T06:58:55","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/abujacityjournal.com\/livenews\/?p=82575"},"modified":"2026-02-09T06:58:55","modified_gmt":"2026-02-09T06:58:55","slug":"suspected-kidnappers-arrested-after-doctor-identifies-them-in-auchi-hospital","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/abujacityjournal.com\/livenews\/2026\/02\/09\/suspected-kidnappers-arrested-after-doctor-identifies-them-in-auchi-hospital\/","title":{"rendered":"Suspected Kidnappers Arrested After Doctor Identifies Them in Auchi Hospital"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>By Huldah Shado<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Suspected kidnappers who abducted a doctor in Auchi, Edo State, and killed his younger brother have been arrested after the victim identified them at the hospital where he works.<\/p>\n<p>Dr. Abu Ibrahim Babatunde recognised the suspects when they brought their sick children to the hospital for treatment.<\/p>\n<p>Hospital authorities immediately alerted security personnel, and the suspects were taken into police custody.<\/p>\n<p>Edo State Police spokesperson, ASP Eno Ikoedem, confirmed the arrests, noting that an earlier suspect, Saminu Kawujie, had been apprehended on February 3 during a bush-combing operation at Warake Forest.<\/p>\n<p>Police recovered knives, phones, an ATM card, and N20,250 from him. Kawujie was later identified as part of the gang.<\/p>\n<p>On February 8, two more suspects, Idris Abubakar and Sani Abubakar, were arrested at the Specialist Hospital, Auchi.
