{"id":82276,"date":"2026-01-29T06:39:06","date_gmt":"2026-01-29T06:39:06","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/abujacityjournal.com\/livenews\/?p=82276"},"modified":"2026-01-29T06:39:06","modified_gmt":"2026-01-29T06:39:06","slug":"strike-fcta-not-owing-workers-salaries-wikes-spokesperson","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/abujacityjournal.com\/livenews\/2026\/01\/29\/strike-fcta-not-owing-workers-salaries-wikes-spokesperson\/","title":{"rendered":"Strike: FCTA Not Owing Workers Salaries -Wike\u2019s Spokesperson"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>By Adenike Lawal<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA), has dismissed claims that unpaid salaries triggered the ongoing industrial action by its workers, insisting that no staff member is owed.<\/p>\n<p>Spokesperson to the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, Lere Olayinka, stated this on Wednesday while speaking on The Morning Brief, a Channels Television programme.<\/p>\n<p>Olayinka said all salaries due to staff of the FCTA and the Federal Capital Development Authority (FCDA) have been fully paid, noting that the strike is not connected to salary arrears.<\/p>\n<p>According to him, the only salary yet to be paid is that of January 2026, which is still running and therefore not due.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere is a general assumption that the strike is about unpaid salaries, but that is not the case.
