Governor Seyi Makinde has pledged his administration\u2019s commitment to inclusive development, lasting stability, and a prosperous future for Oyo State as the state celebrated its 50th anniversary.<\/p>\n

Speaking at the opening ceremony of the \u201cOyo State at 50\u201d celebration held at the International Conference Centre, University of Ibadan, Makinde described the milestone as an opportunity to reflect on the state\u2019s identity, resilience, and progress over the past five decades.<\/p>\n

\u201cFor fifty years, Oyo State has demonstrated identity, resilience, sacrifice, and progress.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

“Today, we celebrate our achievements and commit to securing the next fifty years of prosperity, fairness, and dignity for every citizen,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

The governor highlighted his administration\u2019s focus on creating a competitive economy that generates jobs, attracts investment, and expands opportunities.<\/p>\n

He also promised to strengthen infrastructure, improve education and healthcare, and build institutions that endure beyond any single administration.<\/p>\n

Makinde further reaffirmed his commitment to peace, security, good governance, and fiscal responsibility, ensuring a stable environment for business and development.<\/p>\n

The event drew notable guests, including former Governor and Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Rashidi Adewolu Ladoja, who commended past leaders for shaping the state\u2019s progress.<\/p>\n

Others present included the Speaker of the Oyo State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Adebo Ogundoyin; the state\u2019s Chief Judge, Hon. Justice Iyabo Yerima; commissioners, permanent secretaries, traditional rulers, religious leaders, and Labour Union representatives.<\/p>\n

Hon. Saheed Akinade-Fijabi, Chairman of the Oyo State at 50 Anniversary Committee, noted that the celebration recognizes the efforts of past administrations in governance, education, agriculture, infrastructure, and public service, while also encouraging industrialisation and investment for the future.<\/p>\n
