Okembunachi, who worked at Hardi Aged Care, Guildford, from February 2024, was suspended within a month and later resigned.<\/p>\n<p>The tribunal found that between March 13 and March 27, 2024, she fell asleep on six occasions while serving as the only registered nurse supervising about 100 elderly residents and several assistants-in-nursing. On three nights, residents reportedly missed prescribed morphine doses.<\/p>\n<p>It was also established that she directed an unauthorised assistant to administer medication. Colleagues raised concerns on March 27, leading to her suspension the next day.<\/p>\n<p>Although Okembunachi admitted the misconduct and cited stress from health, academic and financial challenges, the tribunal said deregistration was necessary to protect patients.
