{"id":82054,"date":"2026-01-23T13:25:50","date_gmt":"2026-01-23T13:25:50","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/abujacityjournal.com\/livenews\/?p=82054"},"modified":"2026-01-23T13:25:50","modified_gmt":"2026-01-23T13:25:50","slug":"wike-heads-to-court-over-fcta-workers-strike","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/abujacityjournal.com\/livenews\/2026\/01\/23\/wike-heads-to-court-over-fcta-workers-strike\/","title":{"rendered":"Wike Heads to Court Over FCTA Workers\u2019 Strike"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>By Adenike Lawal<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, has filed a suit at the National Industrial Court in Abuja to challenge the ongoing strike by workers of the Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA).<\/p>\n<p>The legal action follows an indefinite strike declared by labour unions under the Joint Unions Action Committee (JUAC) after a seven-day ultimatum expired without resolution, leading to the shutdown of key FCTA offices.<\/p>\n<p>Court documents show that Wike and the FCTA are seeking an order restraining the unions from picketing, blocking access to offices, or disrupting official duties. The case, Suit No. NICN\/ABJ\/17\/2026, is scheduled for hearing on Monday.<\/p>\n<p>The presiding judge, Justice E. D.
