Shortly after his release, Portable appeared in a viral video where he denied the allegations, insisting he was falsely accused.<br \/>\nReports said Portable was remanded following a complaint by his baby mama, Ashabi Simple, and her siblings, who accused him of physically assaulting them and stealing their vehicle.<\/p>\n<p>The incident reportedly followed a confrontation on New Year\u2019s Eve, during which a video of a heated exchange between the singer and Ashabi circulated online.<br \/>\nFollowing the complaint, Portable was arrested and later arraigned on a nine-count charge bordering on assault, theft, causing bodily harm, and resisting arrest.<\/p>\n<p>The case was heard at the Federal High Court sitting in Ota, where the presiding judge ordered his remand and fixed January 19, 2026, for a bail hearing.<\/p>\n<p>With the bail conditions now fulfilled, the singer has been released pending further proceedings in the case.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>By Adenike Lawal Controversial Nigerian singer Habeeb Okikiola, popularly known as Portable, has been released from custody after spending about a week behind bars over allegations of assault and theft.
