{"id":81685,"date":"2026-01-16T05:40:29","date_gmt":"2026-01-16T05:40:29","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/abujacityjournal.com\/livenews\/?p=81685"},"modified":"2026-01-16T05:40:29","modified_gmt":"2026-01-16T05:40:29","slug":"seven-injured-as-bullion-van-collides-with-car-in-abuja","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/abujacityjournal.com\/livenews\/2026\/01\/16\/seven-injured-as-bullion-van-collides-with-car-in-abuja\/","title":{"rendered":"Seven Injured as Bullion Van Collides With Car in Abuja"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>By Patrick Idowu<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>No fewer than seven people, including a police escort, were injured on Wednesday in an accident involving a bullion van and a Toyota Camry near the Julius Berger roundabout along the Nnamdi Azikiwe Expressway, Abuja.<\/p>\n<p>The crash occurred around 2:45 p.m. after the bullion van reportedly rammed into the Camry from behind, causing extensive damage to the car and triggering a traffic gridlock on the busy expressway.<\/p>\n<p>A witness, Hassan Umar, said the impact caused the bullion van to somersault several times before landing in a drainage.<\/p>\n<p>He added that three occupants of the van were immediately evacuated, while the cash it was conveying was transferred to a backup escort vehicle.<\/p>\n<p>Umar identified occupants of the Camry who sustained injuries as Ibrahim Isaac, 31, the driver, Muhammad Obago, 32, Sanni Uzanga, 30, and Kabiru Usman, 25.
