According to him, the project was awarded towards the end of 2024, completed and commissioned in June 2025, and is currently in use, with a final contract sum of ₦9.8 billion.

The council further ratified an emergency contract for erosion control and the restoration of major water transmission pipelines from the Lower Usuma Dam, which supplies potable water to Abuja. Dauda said erosion had exposed the pipelines and chambers, posing a serious risk to water supply. The project was executed by SCC Nigeria Limited at a cost of about ₦1.7 billion.

In addition, the council approved several other memoranda aimed at improving service delivery and boosting revenue generation in the territory.

The Mandate Secretary for Education, Dr Danlami Hayyo, disclosed that the council approved a ₦62 million contract for facility management services at the Korea Model School, a high-tech institution established in 2018 through a partnership between the Korean Government and the Universal Basic Education Commission, and handed over to the FCT Administration in 2019.

On revenue mobilisation, the Director of Lands Administration, Chijioke Nwankwoeze, said the council approved enforcement actions against defaulters in the payment of ground rents, certificates of occupancy, and land-use conversion charges. He warned that measures including revocation of land titles and sealing of properties would begin next week.

By Onyeanya Ebere Immaculata The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Executive Council has ratified the rehabilitation and resurfacing of internal roads within the Presidential Villa, Abuja, more than 30 years after the roads were constructed.
