The Edo State Government has ordered an intensified security clampdown following the kidnapping and killing of a young man in Ekpoma, Esan West Local Government Area.
\nIn a statement on Friday, the government described the incident as tragic and disturbing, expressing condolences to the victim\u2019s family and the Ekpoma community. It acknowledged the fear and anger the killing has generated, particularly among residents and students of Ambrose Alli University, assuring that the protection of lives and property remains a top priority.
\nThe statement disclosed that the governor has visited Ekpoma to assess the situation and engage with community leaders and stakeholders. He has directed security agencies to step up operations in Ekpoma and adjoining areas to prevent further incidents and ensure those responsible are brought to justice.
