Neighbours said she was repeatedly stabbed and bled profusely before being rushed to Gifted Hands Hospital, where she was pronounced dead at about 8:30 p.m. Doctors confirmed that severe knife wounds, including injuries near her lungs, led to her death.<br \/>\nWitnesses said the attack occurred in the presence of the couple\u2019s children. Despite her injuries, Ganiyat reportedly managed to stagger towards the gate while neighbours responded to her screams and rushed her to the hospital. She was said to have insisted she had done nothing wrong before losing consciousness.<br \/>\nResidents described the suspect, Mr. Ayoola Ayanwale, as a serial wife beater. They alleged that prior to the stabbing, he attempted to force his wife to ingest a poisonous substance, an act she resisted.<br \/>\nHours after the incident, Ayanwale was found in an open field in Sotubo, Ogun State, gasping for breath. He was later confirmed dead in what police suspect to be suicide.
