The court convicted Kanu for issuing \u201csit-at-home\u201d orders and other acts it linked to terrorism.<br \/>\nThe conviction has continued to draw criticism from Kanu\u2019s family and some civil rights advocates, who argue that the trial was flawed and politically motivated. They also claim the law under which he was convicted had been repealed and may be overturned on appeal.<br \/>\nKanu has since rejected the judgment and filed appeals against the conviction.
