More than one week after the ruling, the commission is yet to comply.<br \/>\nConfirming the protest, the party\u2019s spokesman, Obiora Ifoh, said party members later briefed the National Chairman, Julius Abure, at the party\u2019s national secretariat.<br \/>\nAbure warned that the continued delay could undermine the Labour Party\u2019s participation in the election, insisting that INEC must obey the court order.<br \/>\nIfoh described INEC\u2019s action as contempt of court and vowed that the party would pursue all lawful means to ensure compliance.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>By Omoniyi David Candidates of the Labour Party (LP) for the February 21, 2026 Federal Capital Territory Area Council elections on Monday protested at the headquarters of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in Abuja over the non upload of their names.
