{"id":80913,"date":"2025-12-29T09:12:33","date_gmt":"2025-12-29T09:12:33","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/abujacityjournal.com\/livenews\/?p=80913"},"modified":"2025-12-29T09:12:33","modified_gmt":"2025-12-29T09:12:33","slug":"tinubu-moves-to-resolve-akume-alia-rift","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/abujacityjournal.com\/livenews\/2025\/12\/29\/tinubu-moves-to-resolve-akume-alia-rift\/","title":{"rendered":"Tinubu Moves to Resolve Akume-Alia Rift"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>By Onyeanya Immaculata<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>President Bola Tinubu has pledged to intervene in the political disagreement between the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Senator George Akume, and Benue State Governor, Hyacinth Alia, warning that the rift must not be allowed to escalate.<\/p>\n<p>The President made the pledge on Sunday in Makurdi during the wedding reception of Deborah and Samuel Akume, son of the SGF.<\/p>\n<p>He was represented at the event by Vice President Kashim Shettima.<\/p>\n<p>Tinubu said Senator Akume had \u201cpaid his dues\u201d in public service and stressed that there was no justification for a prolonged feud between him and the governor.<\/p>\n<p>He described Akume as a seasoned statesman and noted that instability in Benue State would affect the entire North-Central zone and the country.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBenue is too important for us to toy with.
