{"id":80783,"date":"2025-12-24T06:01:56","date_gmt":"2025-12-24T06:01:56","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/abujacityjournal.com\/livenews\/?p=80783"},"modified":"2025-12-24T06:01:56","modified_gmt":"2025-12-24T06:01:56","slug":"rtean-warns-motorists-against-reckless-driving-during-festive-season","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/abujacityjournal.com\/livenews\/2025\/12\/24\/rtean-warns-motorists-against-reckless-driving-during-festive-season\/","title":{"rendered":"RTEAN Warns Motorists Against Reckless Driving During Festive Season"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>By Omoniyi David<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The Road Transport Employers Association of Nigeria (RTEAN), has urged motorists to avoid reckless driving during the festive season to prevent road accidents and loss of lives.<\/p>\n<p>In a statement issued by its National Deputy President (Administration), Ambassador Muhammad Abubakar Bishara, the National Executive President of RTEAN, Alhaji (Dr) Muhammed Musa Mai-Takobi, appealed to drivers, transport operators and commuters to prioritise safety over speed and profit.<\/p>\n<p>He stressed that human life is sacred and warned against over-speeding, dangerous overtaking, overloading and driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs.<\/p>\n<p>Mai-Takobi also advised vehicle owners to ensure proper maintenance and roadworthiness of their vehicles before embarking on journeys.<\/p>\n<p>The RTEAN president extended Christmas and New Year greetings to Nigerians and pledged the association\u2019s support for efforts to reduce road crashes during and beyond the festive period.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>By Omoniyi David The Road Transport Employers Association of Nigeria (RTEAN), has urged motorists to avoid reckless driving during the festive season to prevent road accidents and loss of lives.
