The event, which marked the fifth anniversary of the awards, also celebrated the achievements of other outstanding individuals, such as Mudashiru Obasa, Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, who received a Lifetime Achievement Award. Senator Adenigba Fadahunsi, representing Osun East Constituency, was recognized as the Philanthropist of the Year 2023.<\/p>\n
Dr. Joe Odumakin, the founder of the PINK Awards, elucidated that PINK symbolizes Prestige, Integrity, Nobility, and Knowledge. The awards serve as a tribute to individuals who have demonstrated excellence in diverse fields. Dr. Odumakin urged the youth in attendance to emulate the virtues exemplified by the awardees, underscoring the significance of simplicity, humility, courage, and resilience.<\/p>\n
Senator Fadahunsi, the keynote speaker, expressed gratitude for the Philanthropist of the Year award and emphasized the importance of philanthropy in adding value to people’s lives. He detailed his constituency projects, highlighting contributions to employment, empowerment, rural development, health, and education. Sen. Fadahunsi encouraged his fellow government officials to prioritize uplifting the people as the cornerstone of national development.<\/p>\n
Representing Governor Makinde, his Chief of Staff, Mr. Segun Ogunwuyi, acknowledged the award as a call to intensify efforts, affirming the governor’s dedication to lifting people from poverty to prosperity.<\/p>\n
The list of esteemed awardees also included Oba Sulaimon Raji, Oniba Ekun of Iba, who received the Outstanding Traditional Institution Humanitarian Icon Award for 2023. Chidi Mokeme was honored as the Best Actor of the Year, while reggae musician Righteousman Erhabor received the Gospel Icon of the Year award. Alhaja Salawa Abeni was recognized with the Legendary Award, and Prince Adebiyi Adesina was presented with the Transformational Impact Award.
