Debt servicing is estimated at \u20a615.52 trillion.<\/p>\n<p>Tinubu warned that all armed non-state actors would henceforth be treated as terrorists, signalling a more aggressive national security posture.<\/p>\n<p>Under the framework, recurrent (non-debt) expenditure is estimated at \u20a615.25 trillion, while capital expenditure stands at \u20a626.08 trillion. The budget assumptions include a crude oil benchmark of $64.85 per barrel, daily production of 1.84 million barrels, and an exchange rate of \u20a61,400 to the dollar.<\/p>\n<p>Security received the highest allocation of \u20a65.41 trillion, followed by infrastructure (\u20a63.56 trillion), education (\u20a63.52 trillion) and health (\u20a62.48 trillion).<\/p>\n<p>Tinubu said the economy was stabilising, citing 3.98 per cent GDP growth in Q3 2025, eight months of declining inflation to 14.45 per cent in November, and external reserves of about $47 billion.<\/p>\n<p>He acknowledged weak capital releases in 2025 but pledged stricter budget implementation in 2026, warning that revenue shortfalls and inefficiency in government agencies would no longer be tolerated.<\/p>\n<p>The president urged cooperation between the executive and legislature, assuring Nigerians that ongoing reforms would deliver shared prosperity.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>By Onyeanya Immaculata President Bola Tinubu on Friday presented a \u20a658.18 trillion 2026 budget proposal to a joint session of the National Assembly, outlining tougher security measures, stricter fiscal discipline and deeper economic reforms.
