Residents in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), have raised concerns over the persistent use of firecrackers and knockouts, despite police warnings, citing noise pollution and safety risks.<\/p>\n
Moses Ibrahim of Kubwa noted that many still use knockouts in the evenings, disturbing residents and heightening tension amid the country\u2019s security challenges.<\/p>\n
He urged police to target sellers and increase evening patrols to curb the menace.<\/p>\n
Ali Abdullahi, a shop owner in Dutsen Alhaji, said compliance is often temporary and stressed that full enforcement is needed to deter defaulters.<\/p>\n
Mrs Amaka Alphonsus highlighted that children are frequently involved, often unaware of the dangers, and called on parents, community leaders, and the police to intensify sensitisation efforts.<\/p>\n
Sharon Obi of Nyanya warned that the noise and chaos from knockouts could be exploited by criminals, worsening insecurity.<\/p>\n
