{"id":80468,"date":"2025-12-17T18:54:45","date_gmt":"2025-12-17T18:54:45","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/abujacityjournal.com\/livenews\/?p=80468"},"modified":"2025-12-17T18:54:45","modified_gmt":"2025-12-17T18:54:45","slug":"nmdpra-chief-farouk-ahmed-resigns","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/abujacityjournal.com\/livenews\/2025\/12\/17\/nmdpra-chief-farouk-ahmed-resigns\/","title":{"rendered":"NMDPRA Chief Farouk Ahmed Resigns"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>By Adenike Lawal<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority (NMDPRA), Farouk Ahmed, has resigned from office.<\/p>\n<p>His resignation comes less than 24 hours after President and CEO of Dangote Industries Limited, Aliko Dangote, publicly accused him of corruption, allegations that have generated widespread attention within the oil and gas sector.<\/p>\n<p>In a related development, the Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerian Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission (NUPRC), Gbenga Komolafe, has also stepped down.<\/p>\n<p>Confirming the developments on Wednesday, Presidential spokesman Bayo Onanuga said President Bola Tinubu has forwarded new nominees to the Senate for confirmation to fill the vacancies.<\/p>\n<p>According to him, Oritsemeyiwa Amanorisewo Eyesan has been nominated as CEO of the NUPRC, while Saidu Aliyu Mohammed was nominated to head the NMDPRA.<\/p>\n<p>Onanuga said the President urged the Senate to expedite the confirmation process, describing both nominees as seasoned professionals with extensive experience in the oil and gas industry.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>By Adenike Lawal The Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority (NMDPRA), Farouk Ahmed, has resigned from office.
