{"id":80219,"date":"2025-12-14T13:59:30","date_gmt":"2025-12-14T13:59:30","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/abujacityjournal.com\/livenews\/?p=80219"},"modified":"2025-12-14T13:59:30","modified_gmt":"2025-12-14T13:59:30","slug":"makinde-vows-to-end-indiscriminate-refuse-dumping-in-ibadan","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/abujacityjournal.com\/livenews\/2025\/12\/14\/makinde-vows-to-end-indiscriminate-refuse-dumping-in-ibadan\/","title":{"rendered":"Makinde Vows to End Indiscriminate Refuse Dumping in Ibadan"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>By Oso Abidemi\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, has assured residents that the persistent problem of indiscriminate refuse dumping in the Ibadan metropolis will soon be resolved permanently.<\/p>\n<p>Makinde gave the assurance on Saturday while speaking at the wedding ceremony of Moyosore Ayorinde and Oladipo Michael Sadipe at the Cathedral of St James the Great, Oke-Bola, Ibadan.<\/p>\n<p>He acknowledged that waste management has remained a major challenge since his administration assumed office but pledged that a lasting solution would be implemented.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cPassing through Ibadan, you will see a lot of waste all over. It is a problem we have been dealing with. It has taken me six years and it has still not been solved, but I promise you that the problem will be solved and solved for good,\u201d the governor said.<\/p>\n<p>He also used the occasion to urge supporters not to place politics above unity, noting that the marriage between families affiliated with different political parties showed that \u201cpolitics is a game, but governance is serious business.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>In his sermon, the Bishop of the Ibadan Anglican Diocese, Most Rev.
