{"id":80158,"date":"2025-12-13T05:43:36","date_gmt":"2025-12-13T05:43:36","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/abujacityjournal.com\/livenews\/?p=80158"},"modified":"2025-12-13T05:43:36","modified_gmt":"2025-12-13T05:43:36","slug":"makinde-mourns-bayelsa-deputy-governor-ewhrudjakpo","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/abujacityjournal.com\/livenews\/2025\/12\/13\/makinde-mourns-bayelsa-deputy-governor-ewhrudjakpo\/","title":{"rendered":"Makinde Mourns Bayelsa Deputy Governor Ewhrudjakpo"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>By Sarah Sam Adda<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde has described the death of Bayelsa State Deputy Governor, Lawrence Ewhrudjakpo, as a painful loss to Bayelsa State and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).<\/p>\n<p>In a statement issued on Friday by his Special Adviser on Media, Sulaimon Olarenwaju, Makinde condoled with Ewhrudjakpo\u2019s family, the Bayelsa State Government, and the people of the state.<\/p>\n<p>The deputy governor reportedly collapsed and died at the Government House in Yenagoa on Thursday.<\/p>\n<p>Makinde praised Ewhrudjakpo as a loyal party man and courageous democrat who served his state until his final moments.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHis death is a sad loss to the state he served till his last breath and to us in the PDP,\u201d he said, while praying for the repose of his soul and strength for his family.<\/p>\n<p>The South-South Governors\u2019 Forum and the PDP also expressed grief over the loss.<\/p>\n<p>Ogun State Governor and Chairman of the Southern Governors\u2019 Forum, Dapo Abiodun, commiserated with Bayelsa Governor Douye Diri, describing the late deputy governor as a dependable ally.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>By Sarah Sam Adda Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde has described the death of Bayelsa State Deputy Governor, Lawrence Ewhrudjakpo, as a painful loss to Bayelsa State and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
