{"id":80063,"date":"2025-12-11T07:26:42","date_gmt":"2025-12-11T07:26:42","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/abujacityjournal.com\/livenews\/?p=80063"},"modified":"2025-12-11T07:26:42","modified_gmt":"2025-12-11T07:26:42","slug":"fg-arraigns-ex-aviation-minister-oduah-over-alleged-n5bn-fraud","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/abujacityjournal.com\/livenews\/2025\/12\/11\/fg-arraigns-ex-aviation-minister-oduah-over-alleged-n5bn-fraud\/","title":{"rendered":"FG Arraigns Ex-Aviation Minister Oduah Over Alleged N5bn Fraud"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>By Huldah Shado<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The Federal Government on Wednesday arraigned former Aviation Minister Senator Stella Oduah before the FCT High Court in Maitama over an alleged N5bn fraud dating back to 2014.<\/p>\n<p>Oduah, who served under former President Goodluck Jonathan, faces five counts including conspiracy and obtaining money by false pretences.<\/p>\n<p>The charges, filed by the Attorney General\u2019s office, allege she obtained N2.4bn through Broad Waters Resources for purported technical supervision, as well as N1.6bn and N839m under similar pretences.<\/p>\n<p>She was arraigned alongside co-defendant Gloria Odita; both pleaded not guilty. Oduah was represented by Onyechi Ikpeazu (SAN), and Odita by Wale Balogun (SAN).<\/p>\n<p>Justice Hamza Muazu granted Oduah bail on self-recognisance, ordering her to surrender her passport and seek court approval before leaving the country.<\/p>\n<p>This marks the second prosecution of Oduah over the alleged fraud, following a previously withdrawn EFCC case.
