{"id":80006,"date":"2025-12-10T14:48:54","date_gmt":"2025-12-10T14:48:54","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/abujacityjournal.com\/livenews\/?p=80006"},"modified":"2025-12-10T14:48:54","modified_gmt":"2025-12-10T14:48:54","slug":"ndume-applauds-tinubus-security-efforts-seeks-stronger-support-for-troops","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/abujacityjournal.com\/livenews\/2025\/12\/10\/ndume-applauds-tinubus-security-efforts-seeks-stronger-support-for-troops\/","title":{"rendered":"Ndume Applauds Tinubu\u2019s Security Efforts, Seeks Stronger Support for Troops"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>By Onyeanya Ebere Immaculata<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Former Senate Leader Ali Ndume has commended President Bola Tinubu\u2019s recent security initiatives, saying the measures rolled out since the declaration of a national emergency on insecurity are beginning to show tangible results.<\/p>\n<p>Ndume, in a statement on Wednesday, praised the President\u2019s renewed strategy to reclaim ungoverned spaces and strengthen inter-agency collaboration.<\/p>\n<p>A key step, he noted, is Tinubu\u2019s directive to the Department of State Services to deploy its trained forest guards to assist in tackling bandits hiding in forests and remote locations.<\/p>\n<p>Describing the deployment as a major boost, Ndume said the guards\u2019 specialised training has enhanced military operations and improved coordination among security agencies.<\/p>\n<p>He also lauded recent adjustments to troop welfare and ongoing upgrades in equipment, though he maintained that military remuneration still lags behind regional standards.<\/p>\n<p>The Borno South senator urged the Federal Government to invest more in attack helicopters, armoured personnel carriers and gun trucks to reinforce frontline units.<\/p>\n<p>Ndume also commended Borno State Governor Babagana Zulum for committing over \u20a6100 billion to support the Army, Police, Civilian JTF and other security formations, a gesture he said other northern governors should emulate.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>By Onyeanya Ebere Immaculata Former Senate Leader Ali Ndume has commended President Bola Tinubu\u2019s recent security initiatives, saying the measures rolled out since the declaration of a national emergency on insecurity are beginning to show tangible results.
