{"id":79820,"date":"2025-12-08T21:41:10","date_gmt":"2025-12-08T21:41:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/abujacityjournal.com\/livenews\/?p=79820"},"modified":"2025-12-08T21:41:10","modified_gmt":"2025-12-08T21:41:10","slug":"awujale-throne-k1-de-ultimate-defends-his-royal-lineage","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/abujacityjournal.com\/livenews\/2025\/12\/08\/awujale-throne-k1-de-ultimate-defends-his-royal-lineage\/","title":{"rendered":"Awujale Throne: K1 De-Ultimate Defends His Royal Lineage"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>By Onyeanya Ebere Immaculata<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Fuji maestro Wasiu Ayinde, popularly known as K1 De-Ultimate, has defended his royal ancestry and eligibility to contest the vacant Awujale of Ijebuland throne, dismissing critics who question his lineage.<\/p>\n<p>He made the assertion during a performance on Sunday, insisting his claim is rooted in Ijebu tradition and Ogun State chieftaincy laws.<\/p>\n<p>His comments come as the Fusengbuwa Ruling House, under which he seeks recognition, directed him to formally prove his ancestry by completing a royal lineage data form.<\/p>\n<p>Chairman Abdulateef Owoyemi said only descendants who can trace their genealogy seven generations back will qualify, a measure aimed at preventing impostors.<\/p>\n<p>K1 had earlier written the ruling house, describing himself as a bona fide son of the Fusengbuwa lineage and tracing his roots to the historic Oba Jadiara family, traditionally entitled to present candidates for the Awujale stool.<\/p>\n<p>During his performance, he invoked the memory of the late Awujale, Oba Sikiru Adetona, saying the monarch, who conferred on him the title Olori Omo-Oba Akile Ijebu would \u201creveal the truth\u201d of his ancestry.<\/p>\n<p>He stressed that the title is reserved for princes, not purchased honours.<\/p>\n<p>K1, 67, reiterated that he hails from the Fidipotemole and Fusegbunwa sections of Ijebu-Ode and challenged those doubting his roots, saying criticisms only surfaced after he entered the succession race.<\/p>\n<p>He added that Ijebu tradition would ultimately settle all disputes over lineage.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>By Onyeanya Ebere Immaculata Fuji maestro Wasiu Ayinde, popularly known as K1 De-Ultimate, has defended his royal ancestry and eligibility to contest the vacant Awujale of Ijebuland throne, dismissing critics who question his lineage.
