According to reports from the deceased’s family, Oduyiga and others were taken to Awolowo police station in Sagamu, where he was accused of involvement in cultism. Contradicting these accusations, sources in the area, as quoted by Daily Post, revealed that other suspected cultists denied Oduyiga’s involvement in any such activities.<\/p>\n

Three days after his initial arrest, Oduyiga’s family was informed of his death after he was transferred to the police headquarters in Eleweran. Despite their attempts to see him earlier, the family alleges that their requests were rebuffed by the officers. Mary Oduyiga, the deceased’s sister, is now calling for justice to be served.<\/p>\n

“We pleaded for his release, but they did not release him. They released the other person arrested, stating that the other one would be released because he did not have tattoos on his body. Seyi was denied bail. He was arrested on Saturday evening, and we went back there on Sunday and were told that Inspector Raji was the IPO,” Mary Oduyiga stated. “Seyi was begging to be released since he had not committed any offence.
