Senator Danjuma Goje (Gombe Central), has dismissed reports of a disagreement with Senate President Godswill Akpabio, saying their brief exchange during Tuesday\u2019s session was a routine parliamentary procedure. He clarified the issue during Wednesday\u2019s plenary.<\/p>\n
Goje said his point of order, which some media outlets interpreted as a confrontation was not personal but aimed at ensuring adherence to Senate rules.<\/p>\n
\u201cMy intention was not to go against the Senate President or fight him,\u201d he said. \u201cI only raised a normal point of order as an experienced parliamentarian.\u201d<\/p>\n
The senator urged journalists and social media users to correct what he called exaggerated narratives, insisting there was no clash.<\/p>\n
\u201cEverything was sorted out. It was not a fight,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n
Akpabio welcomed the explanation and appealed for accurate reporting, stressing that the Senate remains united.<\/p>\n
\u201cThere is no fight in the Senate; we are all one,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
