{"id":79484,"date":"2025-12-01T06:29:39","date_gmt":"2025-12-01T06:29:39","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/abujacityjournal.com\/livenews\/?p=79484"},"modified":"2025-12-01T06:29:39","modified_gmt":"2025-12-01T06:29:39","slug":"wike-camp-unveils-new-pdp-caretaker-committee-in-enugu","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/abujacityjournal.com\/livenews\/2025\/12\/01\/wike-camp-unveils-new-pdp-caretaker-committee-in-enugu\/","title":{"rendered":"Wike Camp Unveils New PDP Caretaker Committee in Enugu"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>By Huldah Shado<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The faction of the Peoples Democratic Party aligned with FCT Minister Nyesom Wike has inaugurated a new caretaker committee for Enugu State, following major political shifts in the state.<\/p>\n<p>The inauguration, held Sunday in Enugu, was conducted by factional acting National Chairman Alhaji Abdulraham Mohameed and National Secretary Senator Samuel Anyanwu, with party members from all 17 LGAs in attendance.<\/p>\n<p>The move follows Governor Peter Mbah\u2019s defection to the APC on October 24, 2025, alongside the state executive council and PDP leadership, a development that ended the party\u2019s dominance in Enugu since 1999.<\/p>\n<p>Former Igboeze South Council Chairman Vitus Okechi was sworn in as caretaker chairman, with Chukwunonye Okereke as secretary.
