{"id":79460,"date":"2025-11-29T18:43:20","date_gmt":"2025-11-29T18:43:20","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/abujacityjournal.com\/livenews\/?p=79460"},"modified":"2025-11-29T18:43:20","modified_gmt":"2025-11-29T18:43:20","slug":"tinubu-sends-32-more-ambassadorial-nominees-to-senate-for-confirmation","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/abujacityjournal.com\/livenews\/2025\/11\/29\/tinubu-sends-32-more-ambassadorial-nominees-to-senate-for-confirmation\/","title":{"rendered":"Tinubu Sends 32 More Ambassadorial Nominees to Senate for Confirmation"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>By Onyeanya Ebere Immaculata<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>President Bola Tinubu has forwarded 32 additional ambassadorial nominees to the Senate, bringing the latest batch to include ex-INEC Chairman Mahmud Yakubu, former presidential aide Reno Omokri, and former Aviation Minister Femi Fani-Kayode.<\/p>\n<p>In letters to Senate President Godswill Akpabio, the President requested swift confirmation of 15 career and 17 non-career nominees.<\/p>\n<p>According to his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, the list includes 10 women.<\/p>\n<p>Among the non-career nominees are former Enugu State Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, former Lagos Deputy Governor Femi Pedro, former Ekiti First Lady Erelu Adebayo, Senator Jimoh Ibrahim, ex-Abia Governor Okezie Ikpeazu, and former Ambassador to the Holy See, Paul Oga Adikwu.<\/p>\n<p>The career nominees include Enebechi Monica Okwuchukwu (Abia), Yakubu Nyaku Danladi (Taraba), Miamuna Ibrahim Besto (Adamawa), Musa Musa Abubakar (Kebbi), Syndoph Paebi Endoni (Bayelsa), Chima Geoffrey Lioma David (Ebonyi), Mopelola Adeola-Ibrahim (Ogun), and others.<\/p>\n<p>Onanuga said the ambassadors will be posted to strategic countries such as China, India, South Korea, Canada, Mexico, the UAE, Qatar, South Africa, and Kenya, as well as to multilateral missions like the UN, UNESCO, and the AU.
