{"id":79144,"date":"2025-11-21T15:35:50","date_gmt":"2025-11-21T15:35:50","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/abujacityjournal.com\/livenews\/?p=79144"},"modified":"2025-11-21T15:35:50","modified_gmt":"2025-11-21T15:35:50","slug":"26-finalists-from-across-nigeria-set-to-compete-in-the-national-essay-competition-powered-by-acj","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/abujacityjournal.com\/livenews\/2025\/11\/21\/26-finalists-from-across-nigeria-set-to-compete-in-the-national-essay-competition-powered-by-acj\/","title":{"rendered":"26 Finalists from Across Nigeria Set to Compete in the National Essay Competition powered by ACJ"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>November 21, 2025<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The organisers of the national essay competition powered by Abuja City Journal (ACJ), has announced the 26 finalists set to compete in the 3rd edition of its National Essay Competition, scheduled for November 26, 2025, in Abuja.<\/p>\n<p>The finalists, representing 16 states across Nigeria, will vie for top cash prizes of \u20a65 million, \u20a63 million, and \u20a62 million.<\/p>\n<p>The competition, which received over 10,000 entries nationwide, aims to promote integrity, discipline, and intellectual excellence among young Nigerians.<\/p>\n<p>The finalists represent a broad spectrum of academic disciplines, including Medicine &amp; Surgery, Law, Mass Communication, Architecture, Dentistry, Political Science, Nursing, Philosophy, Systems Engineering, and English Language.<\/p>\n<p>Among the finalists are Vincent Ikechukwu Maduka from Anambra, a 500L Medicine &amp; Surgery student at UNN, Nsukka; Bolaji Blessing Bolanle from Ekiti, a 400L Mass Communication student at Pan-Atlantic University, Lagos; Abubakar Yusuf Ado from Kano, a 400L Pharmacy student at Bayero University, Kano; Abdulsalam Hameeda Ize from Kogi, a 500L Common &amp; Islamic Law student at Bayero University, Kano; and Anselm-Ahman Loveson Uyo-Ojo from Kogi, a 600L Medicine &amp; Surgery student at the University of Jos, Plateau.<\/p>\n<p>Other finalists include Chatta Lois Ayomide (Kogi), Onilede Bukola Gift (Kogi), Ekam Emediong Elijah (Akwa-Ibom), Fasingba Bridget Adams (Bayelsa), Tigiri Cynthia (Rivers), Gana Sharon Alheri (Niger), Olorunfemi Samuel Akinduyite (Ondo), Abiola Farida Adedunni (Osun), Ogunneye Ayomide Christopher (Lagos), Zafaran Muneeb Olawale (Lagos), Bodunrin Anuoluwapo Olufunke (Lagos), Ochigbo David Onobi (Benue), Abdulhamid Robiu Baba (Kwara), Ekwelem Laura Chisom (Imo), Adeleke Oluwasegun Emmanuel (Oyo), Oluwafeyikemi Marvellous Alawode (Oyo), Egiebor Eghosasere Solomon (Edo), Akwaji Elvis Chisom (Cross River), Onwe Chukwuebuka Praise (Kaduna), Joseph Chidiebube Eluu (Ebonyi), and Ezeoba Mary-Jane Chiamaka (Enugu).<\/p>\n<p>The grand finale will see the finalists present their essays before a panel of distinguished judges, hosted by renowned comedian Bukunmi Adeaga-Ilori, popularly known as &#8220;Kie Kie&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>The event will also provide mentorship opportunities, networking, and national exposure for Nigeria\u2019s emerging writers.<\/p>\n<p>ACJ CEO\/Publisher, Mr. Foluso Sylvanus Ojo, lauded the finalists for their resilience and excellence, highlighting the competition\u2019s role in nurturing creativity and critical thinking among Nigerian youths.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Signed:<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Foluso Sylvanus Ojo<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>CEO\/Publisher, Abuja City Journal (ACJ)<\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE November 21, 2025 The organisers of the national essay competition powered by Abuja City Journal (ACJ), has announced the 26 finalists set to compete in the 3rd edition of its National Essay Competition, scheduled for November 26, 2025, in Abuja.
