Their dismissal was announced Thursday in a statement by the Secretary to the State Government, Umar Ikhlor.<\/p>\n<p>Both men were directed to immediately hand over all government properties and instruments of office to the Akoko-Edo Local Government chairman.<\/p>\n<p>The government said the action followed a review of disputes over the leadership of both communities and was taken in the interest of peace and due process.<\/p>\n<p>Governor Okpebholo appointed Nicholas Odamah as regent of Ikpeshi\/Egbegere, while elders and chiefs of Ososo were instructed to present a consensus candidate for the vacant stool through the Ministry of Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>By Huldah Shado Edo State Governor, Monday Okpebholo, has removed the traditional rulers of Ososo and Ikpeshi\/Egbegere clans in Akoko-Edo Local Government Area.
