{"id":78270,"date":"2025-11-06T14:06:30","date_gmt":"2025-11-06T14:06:30","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/abujacityjournal.com\/livenews\/?p=78270"},"modified":"2025-11-06T14:06:30","modified_gmt":"2025-11-06T14:06:30","slug":"police-probe-accord-partys-2023-akwa-ibom-governorship-candidate","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/abujacityjournal.com\/livenews\/2025\/11\/06\/police-probe-accord-partys-2023-akwa-ibom-governorship-candidate\/","title":{"rendered":"Police Probe Accord Party\u2019s 2023 Akwa Ibom Governorship Candidate&#8230;"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>By Omoniyi David<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The Nigeria Police Force has launched an investigation into Engineer Emem Coffie, the 2023 Accord Party governorship candidate in Akwa Ibom State, over an alleged N245 million property fraud in Abuja.<\/p>\n<p>Coffie, who is also Managing Director of Reticulated Global Engineering Ltd, was accused by Abuja businesswoman, Mrs. Benedicta Akpava, of collecting full payment for a luxury duplex in Wuye but refusing to hand over the property.<\/p>\n<p>In her petition, Akpava said she paid N245 million in 2023 for a four-bedroom terrace duplex with a penthouse and Boys\u2019 Quarters, only for Coffie to later deny her access and demand additional payment.<\/p>\n<p>Despite an allocation letter confirming her ownership, she alleged that Coffie ignored police invitations and is attempting to resell the property.<\/p>\n<p>The case is reportedly being handled by the IGP Monitoring Unit, with calls for justice and prosecution of the suspect.<\/p>\n<p>Efforts to reach Coffie for comments were unsuccessful as of press time.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>By Omoniyi David &nbsp; The Nigeria Police Force has launched an investigation into Engineer Emem Coffie, the 2023 Accord Party governorship candidate in Akwa Ibom State, over an alleged N245 million property fraud in Abuja.
