{"id":78169,"date":"2025-11-05T20:19:02","date_gmt":"2025-11-05T20:19:02","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/abujacityjournal.com\/livenews\/?p=78169"},"modified":"2025-11-05T20:19:02","modified_gmt":"2025-11-05T20:19:02","slug":"inter-ac-milan-finalize-purchase-of-historic-san-siro-stadium","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/abujacityjournal.com\/livenews\/2025\/11\/05\/inter-ac-milan-finalize-purchase-of-historic-san-siro-stadium\/","title":{"rendered":"Inter, AC Milan Finalize Purchase of Historic San Siro Stadium"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>By Onyeanya Ebere Immaculata<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Inter Milan and AC Milan have completed the purchase of the iconic San Siro stadium from the Municipality of Milan, paving the way for a new state-of-the-art arena on the same site.<\/p>\n<p>The \u20ac197 million deal, approved by city officials after intense debate, secures ownership of the land and allows both clubs to proceed with a \u20ac1.2 billion redevelopment project covering 28 hectares in Milan\u2019s western suburbs.<\/p>\n<p>Plans include constructing a 71,500-seat stadium alongside a public park, office spaces, and entertainment facilities designed by Foster and Partners and MANICA.<\/p>\n<p>The existing San Siro will remain operational until the new venue is ready and will later be partially demolished.<\/p>\n<p>The clubs aim to complete the new stadium before Euro 2032, which Italy will co-host with Turkey.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, the current San Siro will host the opening ceremony of the Milan-Cortina Winter Olympics in February 2026, one of its last major events.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>By Onyeanya Ebere Immaculata &nbsp; Inter Milan and AC Milan have completed the purchase of the iconic San Siro stadium from the Municipality of Milan, paving the way for a new state-of-the-art arena on the same site.
