{"id":78148,"date":"2025-11-05T12:43:22","date_gmt":"2025-11-05T12:43:22","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/abujacityjournal.com\/livenews\/?p=78148"},"modified":"2025-11-05T12:43:22","modified_gmt":"2025-11-05T12:43:22","slug":"nnpcl-targets-2-million-bpd-by-2027","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/abujacityjournal.com\/livenews\/2025\/11\/05\/nnpcl-targets-2-million-bpd-by-2027\/","title":{"rendered":"NNPCL Targets 2 Million BPD by 2027"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>By Onyeanya Ebere Immaculata<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL), has raised Nigeria\u2019s crude oil production to 1.7 million barrels per day (bpd) and set a target of 2 million bpd by 2027, with a long-term goal of 3 million bpd.<\/p>\n<p>NNPCL Group CEO Bashir Ojulari announced the milestone on Tuesday during the \u201cEnergy Talk\u201d session at ADIPEC 2025 in the United Arab Emirates.<\/p>\n<p>He attributed the growth to renewed partnerships with local and international producers, removal of operational obstacles, and a focus on shared value creation.<\/p>\n<p>Ojulari outlined plans to collaborate with OPEC members, African national oil companies, and financial institutions to attract $30-60 billion in new investments by 2030.<\/p>\n<p>He highlighted ongoing projects including upstream revival programmes, expansion of gas infrastructure such as the near-complete Ajaokuta-Kaduna-Kano (AKK), and Obiafu-Obrikom-Oben (OB3), pipelines, and cleaner energy initiatives like the Presidential CNG Initiative.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking on Nigeria\u2019s energy potential, Ojulari said: \u201cNigeria is a central player in Africa\u2019s energy landscape. At NNPC Limited, we are not just participating in the energy transition; we are shaping it from an African perspective.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>He emphasized the country\u2019s transition under President Bola Tinubu\u2019s Renewed Hope Agenda from an extractive to an investment-driven energy economy and called on global investors to form partnerships to combat energy poverty in Africa.<\/p>\n<p>The ADIPEC 2025 conference, themed \u201cEnergy. Intelligence.
