{"id":77918,"date":"2025-11-02T17:22:36","date_gmt":"2025-11-02T17:22:36","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/abujacityjournal.com\/livenews\/?p=77918"},"modified":"2025-11-02T17:22:36","modified_gmt":"2025-11-02T17:22:36","slug":"abuja-clubs-sweep-top-honours-at-national-volleyball-league-in-umuahia","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/abujacityjournal.com\/livenews\/2025\/11\/02\/abuja-clubs-sweep-top-honours-at-national-volleyball-league-in-umuahia\/","title":{"rendered":"Abuja Clubs Sweep Top Honours at National Volleyball League in Umuahia"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>By Samuel Adeola<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Abuja-based volleyball teams dominated the National Division One and Two League, which ended in Umuahia, Abia State.<\/p>\n<p>Defence Spikers Volleyball Club of Abuja won the Men\u2019s Division One, with Ajase Ipo of Kwara and Lifecamp of Abuja placing second and third.<\/p>\n<p>In the Women\u2019s Division One, VIP Volleyball Club of Abuja emerged champions, followed by Federal Fire Service of Abuja and Excelsior of Abia.<\/p>\n<p>Light Volleyball Club of Abuja also clinched first place in the Men\u2019s Division Two, while Bayelsa and Rhino (Plateau) finished second and third.<\/p>\n<p>Nigeria Volleyball Federation President Musa Nimrod, represented by Vice President Adamu Tanimu, commended the event\u2019s organisation and lauded Abia State Governor Alex Otti for his support.<\/p>\n<p>Abia\u2019s Commissioner for Sports, Nwobilor Ananaba, said the championship helped discover new talents, while Sports Director George Obioma expressed hope that Abia will host the 2026 edition.<\/p>\n<p>Thirty-four teams from 20 states participated in the 10-day tournament.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>By Samuel Adeola &nbsp; Abuja-based volleyball teams dominated the National Division One and Two League, which ended in Umuahia, Abia State.
