{"id":77680,"date":"2025-10-29T08:50:32","date_gmt":"2025-10-29T08:50:32","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/abujacityjournal.com\/livenews\/?p=77680"},"modified":"2025-10-29T08:50:32","modified_gmt":"2025-10-29T08:50:32","slug":"noa-launches-e-birth-registration-awareness-campaign-in-abuja","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/abujacityjournal.com\/livenews\/2025\/10\/29\/noa-launches-e-birth-registration-awareness-campaign-in-abuja\/","title":{"rendered":"NOA Launches e-Birth Registration, Awareness Campaign in Abuja"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>By Samuel Adeola<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The National Orientation Agency (NOA) in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) has launched an e-Birth Registration and Social and Behaviour Change (SBC) Campaign aimed at ensuring that every child in the territory is legally registered.<\/p>\n<p>The FCT Director of NOA, Mrs. Acharu Opaluwa, announced this on Monday during a news conference in Abuja to officially flag off the campaign themed, \u201cWithout a Birth Certificate, the Naming Ceremony is Not Complete.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The programme, organised in partnership with the National Population Commission (NPC), the Association of Local Governments of Nigeria (ALGON-FCT), and UNICEF, seeks to promote awareness and community participation in child registration.<\/p>\n<p>Opaluwa said the initiative is meant to guarantee that every child born in the FCT is recognised as a citizen of Nigeria.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBirth registration is the first legal acknowledgement of a child\u2019s existence. It is the foundation upon which all other rights are built,\u201d she stated. \u201cYet, in our country today, too many children remain unregistered.
