The All Progressives Congress (APC), in Lagos State has defended the Federal Government\u2019s $1 billion investment in Lagos ports, describing it as part of a national maritime modernisation plan, not a regional project.<\/p>\n
APC spokesperson Seye Oladejo said this on Tuesday while responding to opposition claims that President Bola Tinubu was favouring Lagos over other ports in Warri, Calabar, Onne, and Port Harcourt.<\/p>\n
Oladejo said the investment, backed by China Harbour Engineering Company and Tolaram Group, is aimed at making Nigeria West Africa\u2019s leading maritime hub.<\/p>\n
He noted that the government is also upgrading other ports, including dredging Calabar Port, rehabilitating Port Harcourt Port, expanding Warri Port, and digitalising Onne Port.<\/p>\n
He said the Lagos investment will create jobs, boost exports, and reduce inefficiencies in port operations.<\/p>\n
