{"id":77206,"date":"2025-10-23T09:51:54","date_gmt":"2025-10-23T09:51:54","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/abujacityjournal.com\/livenews\/?p=77206"},"modified":"2025-10-23T09:51:54","modified_gmt":"2025-10-23T09:51:54","slug":"fg-to-disburse-%e2%82%a632-9bn-basic-healthcare-fund-to-states","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/abujacityjournal.com\/livenews\/2025\/10\/23\/fg-to-disburse-%e2%82%a632-9bn-basic-healthcare-fund-to-states\/","title":{"rendered":"FG to Disburse \u20a632.9bn Basic Healthcare Fund to States"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>By Huldah Shado<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The Federal Government will disburse \u20a632.9 billion from the Basic Health Care Provision Fund (BHCPF), to states and health facilities nationwide before the end of October.<\/p>\n<p>Coordinating Minister of Health and Social Welfare, Prof. Muhammad Pate, announced this during the launch of the BHCPF Guideline 2.0, which introduces performance-based financing and stricter accountability mechanisms.<\/p>\n<p>He said the initiative aligns with President Bola Tinubu\u2019s directive for transparency and efficiency in the health sector.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cUnder President Tinubu\u2019s leadership, Nigeria\u2019s health sector is redefining accountable governance anchored on results, integrity, and inclusion,\u201d Pate stated.<\/p>\n<p>According to him, more than 80 million visits were recorded at primary health facilities in the first half of 2025 four times higher than in 2023 while over 21 million Nigerians are now covered under health insurance.<\/p>\n<p>The new guideline will expand supported facilities from 8,800 to 13,000, with quarterly allocations increased from \u20a6300,000 to between \u20a6600,000 and \u20a6800,000 to strengthen service delivery.<\/p>\n<p>Pate added that emergency response services are now available in 30 states via 112 and will be nationwide by December 2025.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>By Huldah Shado &nbsp; The Federal Government will disburse \u20a632.9 billion from the Basic Health Care Provision Fund (BHCPF), to states and health facilities nationwide before the end of October.
