The Federal Government has said the forthcoming World Public Relations Forum (WPRF), Abuja 2026 will be used to counter misinformation about Nigeria and project the nation\u2019s reforms and achievements to the global community.<\/p>\n
The Minister of Information and National Orientation, Alhaji Mohammed Idris, stated this on Tuesday during the national unveiling of WPRF 2026 in Abuja.<\/p>\n
Organised by the Global Alliance for Public Relations and Communication Management, the forum, themed \u201cResponsible Communication: The Voice of the World,\u201d will spotlight Nigeria as a leader in global communication and reputation management.<\/p>\n
Idris said hosting the forum underscores Nigeria\u2019s emergence as a hub for dialogue and responsible communication under President Bola Tinubu\u2019s administration.<\/p>\n
He noted that ongoing reforms in government communication and the new National Orientation Policy are promoting transparency, inclusion, and credible narratives.<\/p>\n
\u201cWPRF 2026 is more than a conference; it is an opportunity to present Nigeria as a model of transformation through communication,\u201d Idris said. \u201cUnder President Tinubu, the world is seeing a Nigeria that is reforming, rebranding, and re-emerging with renewed confidence.\u201d<\/p>\n
He urged journalists, communicators, and public officers to uphold truth, integrity, and empathy in their work, expressing confidence that the forum would mark a turning point in reshaping Nigeria\u2019s global image.<\/p>\n
The President of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR), Dr. Ike Neliaku, described the event as the \u201cFIFA World Cup of public relations,\u201d adding that delegates from more than 126 countries are expected to attend.<\/p>\n
He said hosting both the WPRF and the African Public Relations Association (APRA), Conference in 2026 will help correct global misconceptions and showcase \u201cthe authentic Nigeria.\u201d<\/p>\n
The National Committee for WPRF 2026 was inaugurated with Dr. Suleiman Haruna as Chairman and Malam Yakubu Lamai as Co-Chairman, while renowned musician Innocent Idibia (2Baba), was unveiled as the Music Ambassador for the event.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
