Human rights activist, Omoyele Sowore, on Wednesday visited major markets in Abuja to mobilise traders and artisans for the planned #FreeNnamdiKanuNow protest scheduled for October 20, 2025.<\/p>\n
Sowore, who was accompanied by a team of human rights lawyers, described the ongoing trial of detained IPOB leader, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, as \u201cthe most useless case in Nigeria,\u201d alleging that the Federal Government lacks evidence to justify his continued detention.<\/p>\n
He urged Nigerians, especially traders, students, and drivers to join the peaceful protest and demand Kanu\u2019s unconditional release.<\/p>\n
Sowore said over 1.5 million Nigerians have signalled readiness to participate, warning that the government still has \u201ca window of opportunity\u201d to release Kanu before the protest to avoid \u201cnational embarrassment.\u201d<\/p>\n
The activist\u2019s team visited Wuse Market, Utako Modern Market, GSM Village, Gwagwalada Timber Market, and Zone 3 Neighbourhood Centre during the mobilisation drive.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
