Japan stunned Brazil with a dramatic 3-2 comeback in a friendly match in Tokyo – their first-ever win against the five-time world champions.<\/p>\n
Coach Hajime Moriyasu hailed the victory as historic but warned his players to stay grounded ahead of next year\u2019s World Cup in the United States, Canada, and Mexico.<\/p>\n
\u201cStrong teams will pay us more attention from now on,\u201d he said. \u201cBeating top sides like Brazil in official competitions requires focus and consistency.\u201d<\/p>\n
Brazil led 2-0 in the first half through Paulo Henrique and Gabriel Martinelli, but Japan roared back with goals from Takumi Minamino, Keito Nakamura, and Ayase Ueda before nearly 45,000 fans.<\/p>\n
The result was Japan\u2019s first win over Brazil in 14 meetings and a confidence boost following their strong 2022 World Cup outing.<\/p>\n
Brazil coach Carlo Ancelotti admitted his side \u201clacked balance\u201d in the second half, calling it a lesson as they continue preparations for the World Cup qualifiers.<\/p>\n
