{"id":76040,"date":"2025-10-03T12:35:07","date_gmt":"2025-10-03T12:35:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/abujacityjournal.com\/livenews\/?p=76040"},"modified":"2025-10-03T12:35:07","modified_gmt":"2025-10-03T12:35:07","slug":"veteran-golfer-yusuf-wins-tyb-igrcc-independence-tournament","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/abujacityjournal.com\/livenews\/2025\/10\/03\/veteran-golfer-yusuf-wins-tyb-igrcc-independence-tournament\/","title":{"rendered":"Veteran Golfer Yusuf Wins TYB-IGRCC Independence Tournament"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>By Olokuta Rofiat<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Veteran golfer Kwadiri Kwaga Yusuf has emerged overall net champion of the 2025 Tukur Yusuf Buratai International Golf Resort and Country Club (TYB-IGRCC), Independence Tournament, triumphing over more than 400 participants in the prestigious competition.<\/p>\n<p>Yusuf, a former Managing Director of the Nigerian Agricultural Insurance Corporation (NAIC), posted a gross score of 80 and a net 67 off a handicap of 16.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking after his victory, he credited focus and determination for the win, noting that although he initially registered under the veterans\u2019 category, he was moved to the regular draw, a change he embraced and converted into success.<\/p>\n<p>The keenly contested tournament produced several other winners across categories.<\/p>\n<p>In the men\u2019s handicap 21-28 division, D. Dilli clinched the net title while S. S. Jiya won the gross.<\/p>\n<p>Rueben Egughe took the net in the men\u2019s handicap 6-12 category, with Gabriel Godwin securing the gross.<\/p>\n<p>In the ladies\u2019 event, Justina Gideon emerged gross winner, while Jennifer Shaapera claimed the net prize.
