They further alleged that Senator Aishatu Dahiru Ahmed, popularly known as \u201cBinani\u201d and a former governorship aspirant in Adamawa State, visited their home to persuade them not to expose the matter.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">The family also claimed that Abbo repeatedly sent money to the girl\u2019s father in what they described as an attempt to suppress the case.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">As of the time of filing this report, the former senator remains in police custody at the FCID headquarters.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">This development adds to Abbo\u2019s history of controversies.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">He was previously arrested for physically assaulting a woman at an adult toy shop in Abuja, and more recently accused by a married woman of using an intimate video to blackmail her.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>By Huldah Shado Former Adamawa lawmaker, Senator Elisha Abbo, is currently in the custody of the Nigeria Police Force Criminal Investigation Department (FCID), Abuja, over allegations that he raped a 13-year-old secondary school pupil.
