{"id":75992,"date":"2025-10-02T13:06:02","date_gmt":"2025-10-02T13:06:02","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/abujacityjournal.com\/livenews\/?p=75992"},"modified":"2025-10-02T13:06:02","modified_gmt":"2025-10-02T13:06:02","slug":"sunday-igboho-seeks-olubadans-intervention-over-frozen-accounts","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/abujacityjournal.com\/livenews\/2025\/10\/02\/sunday-igboho-seeks-olubadans-intervention-over-frozen-accounts\/","title":{"rendered":"Sunday Igboho Seeks Olubadan\u2019s Intervention Over Frozen Accounts"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>By Onyeanya Ebere Immaculata<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The Olubadan of Ibadan, Oba Rashidi Ladoja, has promised to intervene in the challenges facing Yoruba nation agitator, Sunday Adeyemo, popularly known as Sunday Igboho, including the freezing of his bank accounts and his status as a wanted person by the Federal Government.<\/p>\n<p>Igboho, accompanied by his supporters, visited the monarch at his Bodija residence in Ibadan on Monday.<\/p>\n<p>Their 40-minute meeting focused on insecurity in parts of the South-West, particularly bandit attacks in Kwara State, as well as his ongoing legal battles.<\/p>\n<p>A statement from Igboho\u2019s media office on Wednesday said Oba Ladoja assured him of support in addressing the actions taken against him by the authorities.<\/p>\n<p>In 2021, operatives of the Department of State Services (DSS), with military support, raided Igboho\u2019s residence in Soka, Ibadan, accusing him of stockpiling arms. The raid led to the death of two of his aides and the arrest of 13 others.<\/p>\n<p>During the visit, Igboho congratulated Oba Ladoja on his ascension to the throne, describing him as a respected leader in Ibadanland and Yorubaland.<\/p>\n<p>He also expressed readiness to work with the Federal Government to improve security in the region.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOlubadan has been a father figure to me since his time as governor.
