{"id":75907,"date":"2025-10-01T07:01:45","date_gmt":"2025-10-01T07:01:45","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/abujacityjournal.com\/livenews\/?p=75907"},"modified":"2025-10-01T07:01:45","modified_gmt":"2025-10-01T07:01:45","slug":"american-woman-dies-during-visit-to-companion-in-warri","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/abujacityjournal.com\/livenews\/2025\/10\/01\/american-woman-dies-during-visit-to-companion-in-warri\/","title":{"rendered":"American Woman Dies During Visit to Companion in Warri"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>By Sarah Sam Adda<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Tragedy struck in Delta State as a 60-year-old American woman, Jacqueline Bolling Elton, died while visiting her male companion in Warri.<\/p>\n<p>Elton, who arrived in Nigeria on September 15, 2025, to spend time with her friend, 39-year-old Alawode Olaide, reportedly took ill on Monday, September 29, around 3:00 p.m.<\/p>\n<p>She was rushed to a private hospital in Otokutu before being referred to the Central Hospital, Warri, where doctors confirmed her dead on arrival.<\/p>\n<p>Security operatives later visited the scene and detained Olaide for questioning over the circumstances surrounding her death.<\/p>\n<p>Authorities said Elton\u2019s body has been deposited at the Central Hospital Mortuary for autopsy, while the case is expected to be transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID), for further investigation.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>By Sarah Sam Adda Tragedy struck in Delta State as a 60-year-old American woman, Jacqueline Bolling Elton, died while visiting her male companion in Warri.
