{"id":75414,"date":"2025-09-12T07:56:24","date_gmt":"2025-09-12T07:56:24","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/abujacityjournal.com\/livenews\/?p=75414"},"modified":"2025-09-12T07:56:24","modified_gmt":"2025-09-12T07:56:24","slug":"acci-president-seeks-fcta-support-ahead-of-abuja-international-trade-fair","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/abujacityjournal.com\/livenews\/2025\/09\/12\/acci-president-seeks-fcta-support-ahead-of-abuja-international-trade-fair\/","title":{"rendered":"ACCI President Seeks FCTA Support Ahead of Abuja International Trade Fair"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>By Onilede Titi Faith<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The President of the Abuja Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ACCI), Chief Emeka Obegolu, has urged the Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA), to provide stronger support for the chamber as it prepares to host the 20th Abuja International Trade Fair (AITF).<\/p>\n<p>Speaking at a media briefing in Abuja, Obegolu, represented by ACCI Second Deputy President and Chairman of the 2025 fair, Dr. Aliyu Idi Hong, lamented the lack of government backing despite the chamber\u2019s role in boosting economic activities in the capital.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOur challenge is government support, especially from the Abuja Federal Capital City. By promoting this fair, we are promoting the economies of the FCT, and its economic department should come fully on board,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>The 2025 fair, scheduled for September 25 to October 6 at the Abuja Trade and Convention Centre, will mark two decades of ACCI\u2019s leadership in hosting Nigeria\u2019s largest multi-sectoral business exhibition.<\/p>\n<p>With the theme \u201cSustainability: Consumption, Incentives, and Taxation,\u201d the event has confirmed participation from 40 countries and exhibitors from at least 20 nations.<\/p>\n<p>Obegolu also unveiled the \u201cBuy Africa, Build Africa\u201d (BABA) initiative, designed to promote African-made goods, deepen intra-African trade, and expand global visibility for local products.<\/p>\n<p>He noted that the fair will attract over 100,000 visitors and 2,000 companies, creating opportunities for innovation, partnerships, and new business ideas.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>By Onilede Titi Faith The President of the Abuja Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ACCI), Chief Emeka Obegolu, has urged the Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA), to provide stronger support for the chamber as it prepares to host the 20th Abuja International Trade Fair (AITF).
