{"id":75355,"date":"2025-09-11T04:24:22","date_gmt":"2025-09-11T04:24:22","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/abujacityjournal.com\/livenews\/?p=75355"},"modified":"2025-09-11T04:24:22","modified_gmt":"2025-09-11T04:24:22","slug":"police-arrest-armed-father-rescue-family-in-abuja-domestic-violence-case","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/abujacityjournal.com\/livenews\/2025\/09\/11\/police-arrest-armed-father-rescue-family-in-abuja-domestic-violence-case\/","title":{"rendered":"Police Arrest Armed Father, Rescue Family in Abuja Domestic Violence Case"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>By Onyeanya Ebere Immaculata<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Police Command has rescued a woman and her three children aged 8, 3, and 9 months, from a violent domestic situation in Abuja.<\/p>\n<p>The children were found with their father, Mr. David Tersoo, 45, who locked himself behind a bulletproof door while armed.<\/p>\n<p>He was arrested on September 9, 2025, after a coordinated operation by police operatives.<\/p>\n<p>During the arrest, officers recovered a pump-action firearm, white powder, and other suspected illicit substances. One of the children had visible bruises, while all four victims have since been placed in protective custody.<\/p>\n<p>FCT Police spokesperson, SP Josephine Adeh, said the operation followed a distress call and was executed by officers of the Mpape Division and the Command\u2019s Gender Unit, in collaboration with the Ministry of Women Affairs.<\/p>\n<p>Despite resistance, police subdued the suspect without casualties. Tersoo is currently undergoing drug tests as part of ongoing investigations.<\/p>\n<p>The Commissioner of Police, CP Adewale Ajao, commended the swift intervention of the Ministry and vigilant neighbours whose timely alert helped avert a tragedy.<\/p>\n<p>He urged victims of domestic violence to speak out and assured residents of the Command\u2019s commitment to justice and safety.<\/p>\n<p>Police sources disclosed that Tersoo, a contractor, has a history of domestic abuse.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>By Onyeanya Ebere Immaculata The Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Police Command has rescued a woman and her three children aged 8, 3, and 9 months, from a violent domestic situation in Abuja.
