According to NAFDAC\u2019s Deputy Director of Public Relations, Adegboyega Osiyemi, Elijah initially denied involvement but confessed after officers discovered an illegal factory, where his brother was also apprehended. Sealing machines, chemical containers, cylinders, and finished products were confiscated.<\/p>\n<p>In a separate operation, NAFDAC sealed MZEE Table Water factory in Damangaza for using a fake and expired license and operating under unhygienic conditions without a certified borehole or treatment system.<\/p>\n<p>Acting on intelligence, officials also raided a plaza opposite the World Trade Centre, Abuja, where they seized counterfeit rice, packaging materials, and sealing machines worth over N60 million.<\/p>\n<p>The raids were led by NAFDAC\u2019s Enforcement Director, Embugushiki Godiya, who attributed the success to directives from Director-General Prof. Mojisola Adeyeye, emphasizing the agency\u2019s intensified surveillance to protect Nigerians.<\/p>\n<p>He urged citizens to buy only NAFDAC-certified products and report suspicious items, stressing that counterfeit goods remain a serious health risk and undermine the economy.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>By Samuel Adeola &nbsp; The National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC), has sealed a water factory and uncovered counterfeit rice and hazardous chemicals in multiple raids across Abuja.
