{"id":74904,"date":"2025-09-04T06:08:50","date_gmt":"2025-09-04T06:08:50","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/abujacityjournal.com\/livenews\/?p=74904"},"modified":"2025-09-04T06:08:50","modified_gmt":"2025-09-04T06:08:50","slug":"wike-flags-off-emergency-reconstruction-of-karu-road","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/abujacityjournal.com\/livenews\/2025\/09\/04\/wike-flags-off-emergency-reconstruction-of-karu-road\/","title":{"rendered":"Wike Flags Off Emergency Reconstruction of Karu Road"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>By Huldah Shado<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, on Wednesday launched the emergency reconstruction of the Karu road, spanning from the Karu Interchange to Customs Clinic Junction in Abuja Municipal Area Council.<\/p>\n<p>The project also covers additional feeder roads in Karu satellite town, following persistent appeals from stakeholders.<\/p>\n<p>Wike commended AMAC Chairman, Christopher Maiakalangu, for persistently advocating the project, noting that his engagement with the FCT Administration made the intervention possible.<\/p>\n<p>He also acknowledged the contributions of former Senator Philip Aduda, who pushed for the inclusion of additional roads.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIf I were you, I would continue to support leaders who have the interest of the people at heart. The AMAC chairman has always pressed for the Karu road, and I felt it was important to listen to him. Likewise, Senator Aduda also intervened to ensure adjoining roads were included,\u201d the Minister said.<\/p>\n<p>The Minister assured residents of quality delivery by the contractor, Messers Abdul Val Nigeria Limited, citing its successful execution of a similar project in Ushafa, Bwari Area Council.<\/p>\n<p>He directed the firm to complete the reconstruction within 10 months and to install streetlights to enhance business activities.<\/p>\n<p>Wike stressed that the project aligns with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu\u2019s Renewed Hope Agenda, which prioritizes infrastructure development in satellite towns.<\/p>\n<p>He added that ongoing rural road and water projects demonstrate the administration\u2019s commitment to improving living conditions across the FCT.<\/p>\n<p>He further urged residents to hold their elected leaders accountable for campaign promises, noting that good governance requires both leadership and citizen participation.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>By Huldah Shado The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, on Wednesday launched the emergency reconstruction of the Karu road, spanning from the Karu Interchange to Customs Clinic Junction in Abuja Municipal Area Council.
